I was so excited to hear Bonnie. Afterward, I wanted to come home and cut up stash! But I didn't. I did really enjoy seeing her quilts in person. Her lecture was very good. Since I already had a signed copy of her new book, I took my quilt Double Delight and asked her to sign it.

Moda Man visits Sweet Home
This morning I accompanied Moda Man out to Bad Melisa's to check out the shipment that arrived this week. His main mission though was deactivation of the head protection that blocked his messages regarding new products available. He visited with Melisa and Pat who was teaching upstairs. He also zeroed in on her students and now he has them on his radar as well!
Cindi did some damage and we met Becky. Moda Man also reviewed her purchases. He was one busy fellow today!
I bought some backlog material for Carolina Christmas and Patches and Pinwheels. I also bought the borders for P&P.
Now I am home to do Saturday stuff and hang out with the boys.

Hooray for Friday..
Wild Willie and Henry hanging out, waiting fo messages from their friends?
It's been a long crappy week and I am glad it is almost over! That is enough of the gloom and doom...
I made a run to Alpharetta to pick up the girl scout cookies. Sarah had soccer practice and Emma was just chilling. Then I stopped to see Kris and Alice. Yesterday Alice was 4 months old. I delivered her new quilt. 2010-1 I am calling it Modern Baby because she is!! Then I headed home to chill with my boys.
Moda Man and I will be picking up Cindi and heading out to see Bad Melisa. She got a delivery from the big brown truck yesterday! And no matter what Laurie says-I need to be there!!
Saturday-may have a chance to bug Pat...or maybe I will be good
Sunday-Bonnie Hunter...wootwoot.

Thimble Weekend
Completed the pinwheels for Patches and Pinwheels. This morning I started to sew the rows together. I did not realize that this is one big sucker! 13X13 blocks. One busy quilt!
I finally put together this month's block for the mystery quilt. Love that Glace fabric, Mr Moda Man. Made a pillowcase for one of my residents who is celebrating a birthday. It is late for her birthday but that is okay since she probably won't remember it was her birthday anyway!
When I got home I did the quilting on Alice's new quilt. This one will keep her awake!. I have to make the binding for it today.
Moda Man was at Thimbles yesterday and he and Sir Quilt Dude had a man to man talk about his relationship with Pat. He also got to talk with Gretchen and observed Kristie working on her project for this month. He is a happy camper when he is surrounded by his adoring fans.

Secrets of Eden
Chris sent the email out this week, Secrets is debuting on the NYT bestseller list this week...at #6!!!! I really did enjoy this book and I say that despite the fact that he is my nephew. I hope he gets to come again to the ATL on his book tour although it is not on the schedule yet. I wish my mother was alive to witness his success. She was always so proud of him. I guess I will just have to be a stand in for her.
I picked up the Thimbles quilt made with the glace fabric yesterday. I had not even made the binding for it because I needed to substitute a fabric. I ended up using the backing fabric. I think it looks fine. Now on to the hand sewing and I will have 2010-1 on the list as a completion.
On to work...

Enough already!!!
I have spent the afternoon on the couch under a quilt and cat, recovering from my wonderful time. Just a few more comments. The sleeping arrangements: My condo mates were Cathy, Ann and Cindi. Thank you Cathy for bringing the coffee-I need it to get my eyes opened. Probably could not have made it down the steps to breakfast without it!!! We had late evening time discussing all the world's issues. By the way-we didn't solve any, but that's okay.
So when I finally stirred this afternoon, I hear the weather forecast....more of the S-word. And if that happens, I will be waiting at home until it stops before I go into work! I could use another day off anyway.
Only have a week to wait until Thimbles weekend. Yippee......and then the end of the month, I am going to Marietta to see BONNIE HUNTER!!!!!! (I also made good progress on the pinwheels for Patches and Pinwheels. I think I have to make another 35 or so and then I can begin to put it together. I guess I know what I will be doing at Thimbles.
Hope the head Thimble posts pictures when she recovers!
also-the Moda Man had a good time on retreat-he played in the snow and participated in a drawing. He really enjoyed bonding with Pat. Better not let Sir Quilt Boy know!

Silver Thimble Weekend in the Mountains
What a wonderful weekend it was. Whitepath Lodge is just so pretty. Arrived on thursday and began sewing. Field trip Friday morning. Early afternoon it started to snow and snowed the rest of the day. Too bad we can not get down the mountain!!! I sewed like a slave and was able to finish Reenuzit. No pictures-hopefully someone has one. I was bound and determined to finish this top. I love the pattern and the fabaric. It is a spectacular collection. Love you Moda Man!!! You are my hero!!!
The food was UNBELIEVEABLE!! I need not eat for at least several days. Julie and Pat-kept us happy. Every time you turned around-more food! We were one bunch of happy quilters!! Our fearless leader outdid herself with this weekend. Pat-you are the best!!
The condo was great. i could live up there if I had a million dollars. Well I can dream!
Only happy people today...Henry, Spooky and Wild Willie

Henry is suspicious
Henry ALWAYS knows when something is afoot. When I am going away for a couple of days, he always seems to know. I have taken to not packing until just before leaving. Now here it is 5:30 AM and I have yet to pull clothes together. I am picking Cindi up between 8 and 8:30. I so have my sewing stuff in a pile in the living room. But clothes-not so much. The good thing is I need very little. but he knows because right now he is sitting on my lap.
I am so ready to have some fun this weekend. Don't know how much I will get accomplished-probably not too much. I do hope to make substantial progress with the Reenuzit quilt. I do love the French General fabric Mr. Moda Man.

Only 78 more to go...
Last evening I started the construction of the pinwheels in Patches and Pinwheels. Bonnie calls for 84 of these bad boys with alternating directions-I wonder how many of these I end up having to redo!!! Can you see my new background? I think that that surface is used for another purpose in most homes haha! Now that the holidays are over, the kitchen is back into disuse status. Am I missing time there????? Is it snowing at the equator?
On another note-last wednesday I realized I had misplaced my debit card. What a pain. I called for a replacement but did not want to spend the money for a next day replacement. Until yesterday I felt like I was missing a body part. The new card arrived yesterday and now I am once again whole!
Gotta start thinking about getting ready for Elijay...come on Thursday!!!!!

Henry ponders the weekend
Henry was checking out the blogs he follow this morning. His favorite, of course, is Stella Bella because he often gets to see the boys and girl that live with Gretchen. This morning was a bonus as all 4 were pictured.
Currently he is patiently waiting for me to move to the couch so he can settle in on a quilt or three. Last evening he enjoyed reading. After I finished the book, I worked on trimming up some of the half square triangles.
Weekend will be busy with party for Emma and visiting with Sarah. I just can't make it to a bowling party with eight year olds. Then I REALLY need to start organizing what I am going to take to Elijay.
Best news..short work week-three days only!!

quilt projects might have to wait..
Yesterday was the release date for Chris's new book, Secrets of Eden. Of course I had to stop at B&N to get a copy. Got to keep the family members solvent! (My nephew)Last evening I started reading it. I am really liking this one. I wanted to continue to read this morning but alas, I needed to go to work. But this afternoon, I am headed back to the couch. Sue said she saw a review on the weekend Today show. Wonder why I missed it. Hope he comes to Atlanta again.
I really need to start getting projects in line for weekend retreat at Elijay.
